Maxibright PL2 and PL4 propagation lights house 2 and 4 x 55W fluorescent tubes respectively, and offer a minimal fuss way to begin indoor propagation, whilst being able to offer young plants a great start to life!
Unlike other lighting options (such as the powerful H.I.D options), the beauty of the PL2/PL4 units is in their ability to be hung very close to canopy level - around 1-2" is optimal. This ensures seedlings and young plants are able to get off to the best start possible, growing bushier with stronger stems and side branching - ideal for later on when they will be needed to carry heavy fruits and flowers without the risk of breaking or damaging harvests.
Both sturdy and durable, he PL2 unit is supplied with a hanging kit for easy installation and allows you to raise and lower the reflector when in use, for even greater control and optimised plant growth. The PL4 is fitted with strong hanging eyes allowing the unit to be hung easily. The PL2 measures 20cm wide x 57cm long x 8cm deep; the PL4 measures 42cm wide x 57cm long x 8cm deep. This makes them perfect for any of our propagation grow tents.
Whilst PL2/4's definitely have an important role to play for many growers, if however, you do have the room, height and budget, we'd highly recommend taking a look at our extensive range of H.I.D and LED lighting options. The increased power and plant usable light spectrum offers optimum results... but they're not for everyone.
Maxibright PL2 / PL4 Propagation Light Unit Specification:
Whilst we wouldn't necessarily recommend PL2 or PL4 lighting for the whole vegetative phase, this technology does most definitely still have it's place in the grow world! These units are ideal to use for propagation/young plants, for mother plants, or as supplementary and side lighting. They're also perfect for those tight spaces where the more powerful HPS options (that give off significantly more waste heat) would need some pretty powerful extraction and head room, creating extra noise and needing extra space. This units are value for money and can be an ideal way to indoor growing in general and have been very popular over the years. Recommended.
